Milk Carton Star box

I've seen a few of these boxes and had to try one for myself! It's a darling box made with the milk carton die. All you do is cut two dies out, cut off one side of each die (the side that doesn't have the tab), stick them together and WALA! Cutest box ever! When I decided to make this I grabbed what paper was closest, retired paper. Don't worry, I'll make plenty with current paper. :) Might I also add that the "Merry Christmas" on the tag is made with the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set that I won from So Shelli's Creative Challenge with this post. Love free stuff!

Stamps: Pennant Parade, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Glorious Green, Real Red, White, Christmas Cocoa DSP
Ink: Glorious Green, Choc. Chip
Accessories: Milk Carton die, Decorative label punch, Scallop Trim Border punch, Pennant Punch, Baker's twine, White gel pen

Happy "I Do" day!

A few weeks ago we went to the Outer Banks for a wedding of a good friend. We went a couple days early and enjoyed time together as a family. It was fun to have a vacation before Carston started school.

Just for fun!

It's been a while since I've sat down and played for fun. I made these cards for an open house I had and I'm happy with the way they turned out. I can't wait to spend more time card making and less time vacuuming. (Okay really! I've never vacuumed so much in my life until we put our home on the market. Hopefully it's worth it!)

A sweet friend of mine has breast cancer and I offered to make her some thank you's she could give away. She's had a lot of service rendered to her! Cruise cards

While I was on my cruise, a few times my mom, sisters and I got together and made cards. I took some left over card kits of cards that never got made and used those to make cards. It was a lot of fun. I had just received my Totally Tool stamp set and Father's day was on my mind. (Can you tell?)

Wedding Reception Gifts

Like I said in my last post, I had some of my dear friends help me decorate for a wedding reception. I wanted to thank them for all of their help but didn't have time to put something grand together. Then I realized I have many cards that I could wrap up as gifts for them as a thank you. So that's what I did! Here's what they looked like:
Supplies
Stamps: Sweetheart
Paper: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Love Letter DSP
Ink: Black Staz-on, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Ribbon, die cut heart, Elegant Lines embossing folder, sponging, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch

Wedding Decorations

I was asked to decorate for a wedding reception and was very worried about it before the cruise. After the cruise I realized I just needed to ask some of my closest friends to help make it possible. They were an amazing help!

We decorated 10 guest tables and one head table. It looked so pretty! I die cut about 110 of the letter "F" to wrap around each napkin. Pictures of the couple were placed around each table. We borrowed the silver chargers to dress up the head table. A couple of women bought impatiens to plant in their gardens after the event, we used those for centerpieces.

We draped huge pieces of tulle across the ceiling to soften the look of the church gym. (Borrowed from a lady who used it for her wedding)

We all brought our silk and live plants from home to give them a nice place for a receiving line.

This darling picture was across from the guest book. (Mark took this picture for their wedding announcements and we decided to have a large one printed on canvas for them)

This darling bench outside the church welcomed guests

The happy couple after their temple wedding! Many of the grooms family had traveled from Hawaii and they brought them the beautiful leis they are wearing. The smell of flowers was amazing!

We were so thrilled with the way everything turned out and done on a budget of nothing. Obviously, donations of ribbon, foil, tulle, and paper were made, but it was very inexpensive. I was sooooo grateful for all the help I received from my dear friends!

Cruise

Ours was the ship on the right (St. Kitts)

Mark and I went on a cruise with my parents, my sister, her husband, my brother and his wife. We had a great time! We were in need of some serious rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. We got more than we asked for and were glad to come home. (Being gone 10 days from the kids was hard)
All the islands we visited were beautiful! My favorite was St. Lucia. It has rain forest areas and beautiful mountains called the Pitons that rise about 3,000 ft. from sea level. They were beautiful!
Enjoying fresh coconut milk. Not bad!

We went scuba diving on a Discovery dive. This is the third time we've been scuba diving. It's a great way to dive without getting certified. You take an hour long class then an instructor takes you diving 40 ft. deep. It was awesome! I think this picture is funny because I think it looks like we're standing in front of a fake picture...it's real! :)

Chris and Shelley (my brother and his wife)

Steve and Melanie (My sister and her husband)

Klaus and Arlene (My dad and mom)

Jenae and Mark (Celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary!)

Mark got these amazing pictures of these iguanas. It was so cool how close he was able to get to them.
