Feb. club

We had a great time with everyone who came to club today! We missed several of you though and hope you'll be able to come next time. Today we had St. Patrick's Day, Easter and weddings on our mind. Here's what we made:

I love the Chocolate Bunny stamp in the mini catalog. When you emboss him he looks like real chocolate! Yummy! I taught everyone how to emboss with classic ink and a Versamark pad. We all loved the new Sweet Pea stitched felt as everyone got to pick which flower to use on their cards. And... we had fun using the texture plates to add a fun dimension to the Regal Rose piece.

I don't think we have ever made a wedding card so I thought it was time. This card uses a lot of punches but comes together quickly once you decide what colors you want the birds to be.

For our little extra project, we made the matchbox with a St. Patrick's Day theme. I punched a hole and added a piece of transparency to one side to make a little window. I just love the way the "gold" nuggets show through! The shamrock is made by putting four hearts together in a north, south, east, west direction.

Sweet Treat Cups

I love the new Sweet Treat Cups! Here are a few projects I've made with them:

The snow globe is simple and impressive. It's made by adding a small amount of glitter to the treat cup. Then add water almost to the top of the cup edge. Seal it off with a heavy plastic. A sheet protector cut down would work perfectly. Place stamped image behind the treat cup how you'd like it and adhere it to the card. (I know these are pretty crummy instructions, maybe I'll do a picture tutorial!)

I made this fancy favor gift for a friend who turned 50. She loved it!

I made a big splurge and bought the matchbox die.... and I LOVE IT! I want to give everyone a little treat made out of it! They are so fun and EASY to make. Wahoo! Hope everyone from club enjoyed their extra treat!

Jan. Club

Wow, it's been a long time! It's hard to get back into the swing of things after being away so long. Well, I'm back. We had such a great time at club a couple of weeks ago! Knowing that Valentine's day is the next holiday, I wanted to make Valentines. Here is what we made:

This card was made with boys in mind. It really could be a card for any boy on any occasion, I guess that's why I like it!

I love the new sweet treat cups and wanted to show everyone how fun they are. I'm especially excited for the new heart treat cups, but mine hadn't arrived yet so this is what we made.

Teri came up with the most brilliant idea with this card. We were discussing how to get the candy out and she suggested making an "X" in the back of the cardstock with the perforating tool (one of the tools on the cutter kit). Then the recipient just pokes a hole through the X. I hope this makes sense because it makes it so easy! Great idea Teri!!!

Thanksgiving in Charleston

Last week we went to Charleston, SC for Thanksgiving. No, we don't have any family there. We have a tradition, since all our extended families are West, that we go someplace we've never been as a family together. We had such a great time! We went to Patriot's Point where you can tour a battle ship and submarine. We now know that if our children disobey, all we have to do is threaten them that we will send them to the military and ask for them to work on a submarine and they will quickly obey! Ha! We couldn't believe how small it was inside and how many men they would fit into it. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that because I forgot my camera that day! Darn!

Thanksgiving day we had dinner at the Renaissance Hotel and it was delicious! All the good food and none of the prep! I'm sure I will be making a turkey dinner within the week just to have the leftovers though.

On Friday, the girls went to Magnolia Plantation and shopping while the boys went to an aquarium. The boys had the camera and we bought a little throw away camera so I don't have those pictures yet.

Saturday we went to Folly Beach. The water was soooooo cold but the kids still got in up to their knees. The sand there is so soft! We loved it!

Week ?

I know I'm way off, but here are a few of my latest Christmas creations! The tin is a gift I made for each of the women in my stamp club. Inside is a sampling of the vanilla hodgepodge hardware.

This card is very simple yet striking I think. The flower in the center is from the True Friend stamp set. It is easily cut out by stamping the flower twice, then cutting it out with the 5 petal flower punch. You then just layer them on top of each other and you're done!
