Happy Administrative Assistant Day

Ha! What ever happened to Secretaries day? Oh well. Mark asked me to make something that he could give to his administrative assistants, so this is what I came up with. I filled one with Rolo candies and one with peanut M&M's. I hope they like them.

First in Fitness

Last month Lacie and Bryson competed in the county First in Fitness competition. Bryson was chosen to do pull-ups for the middle school. He got 2nd place with 18 pull-ups. First place did 19. We were very proud with how well he did. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but the first place winner's mom took this picture. I'm grateful to her!

A week later Lacie competed as the Triathlete. She was the only girl from our school to do the Shuttle Run....
Pull-ups....
and the Mile....
We don't know exactly how she did in the shuttle run, but she got first in pull-ups with 15 pull-ups and 5th in the mile with a time of 7:05. We were so proud of her!

Scallop Square Bag

Look what I made! This bag came together so easily! I used the Scallop Square Bigz die and it cut out sooooo fast! I was able to put 8, that's right, eight layers of fabric through the Big Shot at once. I was able to do 3 layers of batting at once as well! I just love this material by Basic Grey. The hardest part was deciding how to lay the fabric out! The bag looks cute this way or inside out (without the scallops). I think I'm going to reinforce the handles with material and sew the rik rac on top of that. Wouldn't this make the cutest baby blanket!?! Love my Big Shot!

What to do???

Brady and Bryson were challenged this week to go without any t.v., radio or computer (except for homework). It hasn't been too hard up until today. Bryson was forced to play outside then play games inside with a friend. Brady went longboarding. He was invited by some friends to go watch a video tonight, but chose to stay home. (He wasn't very happy about that.) We all wanted to watch a movie, but we couldn't, so instead we went for a walk then came home and had dinner. After dinner Brady read a book and Mark did taxes. The rest of us decided to mold Rice Crispies into some sort of sports theme. Lacie and I chose tennis and Bryson and Carston chose lacrosse. It was really fun!

Lacrosse player sitting against a tree, bushes on the sides, lacrosse net across from him and choc. chip grass.
I then started reading a book to them and they all fell asleep quite quickly. I think it was a good challenge and made us all think a little outside the box.
