Jon Schmidt

A few weekends ago we went on a 3 hour trek to go see Jon Schmidt in concert. If you don't know who he is you can check him out here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v3d6SFcDys It was so AWESOME! We all loved it. All 4 of my children play the piano and we do all we can to show them what a great thing it is to be able to play. It's fun to see them all get better and really enjoy what they're playing.

Girl's Camp

Last week I was a leader for Girl's Camp with the young women at church. We had such a great time and I'm happy to say the girls all got along well. It was neat to see their testimonies grow as well as see them grow closer together. I've gone to camp for 5 years now and it just seems to get better and better. I feel blessed to work with such beautiful young women!

Dish Drainer

One of my good friends has been out of a dishwasher for months. I thought I'd help make her life a little easier (because she helps me in so many ways) by giving her a dish drainer for Mother's Day. But you can't give someone a plain old dish drainer, right? It had to be cute and that meant floral ribbon. I don't know about you, but I can't go into a craft store and pass up ribbon that is on sale! I just love mixing and matching and finding what looks cute together. I think it's a sickness! So I got busy decorating, adding flowers and ribbons. Then I decided I needed a card and my new Sizzlits "Garden Delight" was the perfect match! I'm so tickled about how it turned out! I hope she loves it!

Recipe book

I've been very busy the last few days working on a recipe book for my niece who is getting married at the end of the month. There is a shower for her this weekend so I asked everyone invited to send me one of their favorite recipes that we could share with her. Unfortunately, I didn't receive many responses but I decided to add some of my favorites. For each divider (ie. breads or main dishes) I added a quote that talks about the importance of family meals. I hope she loves it! It made me want to make one of my own. I used the Summer Home Simply Scrappin' kit from last falls catalog to put it together. I just love that kit!
