Happy New Baby!

My husband's secretary is having a baby in about a month so some people at work had a shower for her. I went hunting for an outfit and Geni pointed out this CUTE cherry dress. (We just happened to be in Gymboree at the same time!) So my quest was to do a gift with a cherry theme.
I got the bowl at Target along with the Cherries and Almonds Dark Chocolate bar. (One for me as well, yummy!)
The cute little onesie and polk-a-dot skirt are from Crazy 8.
Then I had to top it off with some cherry thank you cards. I wish I got a better picture of them but, you get the gist!
Some diapers, wipes and a cute catapiller filled up the empty spaces and I was done. I think she was happy with everything. Yea!

A+ Teacher

Wow! It seems like it's been forever since I've blogged. I hope to start adding pictures of the house soon, but until then, I have a few pictures that I'd like to share. I made this for Carston's 2nd grade teacher that we just love! The drawers included paper clips, pencil grippers, staples, and chocolate nuggets. The desk was made with 6 matchbox dies and card stock for the top.

The Demolition Begins!

It's absolutely CRAZY around here! The house is trashed as we try to get ready to put new floors and cabinets in. I'm living out of boxes and trying to keep it all together. Mark asked me for a paper today and I stressed! I know I have it, but what box is it in? Well, I finally found it! Hopefully things will get back to normal in a few weeks!

Good Friends Shouldn't Move!

It's been a hard week with a funeral AND a good friend moving away. I just adore Beth! She is an amazing mother and puts her whole heart into anything she does. We couldn't say good-bye, instead we just said "see ya later!" That made it a little easier. I put together this frame and card for her. I will miss her very much!

A Tender Day

Today I went to the funeral of a friend whose baby lived only 17 min. He had a known chromosomal defect and was not expected to live at all, so it was a miracle that he lived for 17 minutes. She believes, as do I, that because Jesus Christ lived and died for us all, she will see her baby again and that he will be a part of her family forever. So, even though it was sweet and tender and a little sad, the funeral was a celebration of life and the gift of our Savior. Her daughters sang and played on the guitar two beautiful musical numbers. Carston, my youngest, and a good friend sang "A Child's Prayer" and I played Carston's part on the flute. You can hear a version of the song here (click on Words and Music under "Recorded Music," then click the play button in the left-hand corner):

There was not a dry eye in the congregation. I couldn't look out towards the congregation because I knew I would start crying and not be able to play. I'm so grateful we were able to be a part of this special day.

I made her the following card...

Mmmm, Strawberries

It's perfect that strawberry pickin' time is during track out for my kids. They love to go. We finally went and I made strawberry jam with a bunch of the strawberries. Mark was SO happy!

We might have to make a recipe of strawberry ice cream with what we have left over, I can already taste it! Yum!
