Mud Run

The Start: All Clean

Last weekend our family traveled to Columbia, South Carolina for the US Marine Corp Mud Run. It's a 5 mile, marine obstacle course through mud. I believe there were about 30 obstacles. Teams consist of four people and you have to stay together the whole race. Brady, Amanda and Derek were my teammates and they were all in better shape than me. My team would have finished a lot sooner if they didn't have "grandma" on their team, but I felt good about what I accomplished! (I've never done a race like this before!) Here are some of the pictures Mark got of us:
Amanda and I weren't able to complete this obstacle by ourselves but our teammates could help us. I was grateful for Brady!

This picture gives you a good idea as to how muddy a few of the obstacles were! Thick!

This one was a killer! None of us completed it and we had a 3 min. penalty!
Grandma on the streacher!
We FINISHED!

All in all, we finished 326 out of 1079 teams. We completed the race in 1 hour 32 minutes and 51 seconds. Not bad for first timers! We'll definitely be back next year!

Grandma? I don't think so! Dani saw the pictures and said you looked like a professional athlete! I agree!
