Baja Silver Sensation

I love Baja Breeze and Brushed Silver together! This is one of the cards we made for stamp club. The paper used is baja breeze, brushed silver and Urban Garden DSP. We used the Upsy Daisy stamp set. The flowers are stamped with versa mark and embossed with silver ep. The words are stamped with baja breeze ink. The paper is distressed with the distressing tool from the tool kit. We used the slot punch and inserted the basic gray taffeta ribbon behind the brushed silver. This card came together quite simply but has an elegant feel.

Today I worked on a project that I will share in a couple of days. I'm so excited about it but wish it didn't take so long! On a positive note, now it's done and I can just duplicate it. It probably sounds like I'm speaking a foreign language, I'll stop!

Table Treat

Here are the table treats we made at stamp club. The directions are at this link: http://andreawalford.com/?page_id=292

For the first treat, I used a transparency and the Sock Monkey stamp set. I colored the monkey with blender pens and punched him out with the 1 3/8" punch. I also used the scalloped circle punch. The second treat is made with Purely Pomegranate DSP (no longer available) and the tag is made with Seeing Spots stamp set. Tomorrow I'll upload the cards we made for club. Have a great day!

Bryson's 11th Birthday!

Today Bryson turned 11! He's growing up so fast. He's started lacrosse this fall and is really liking it. Him and Brady were supposed to be going to practices together but Brady had a small fracture to the bone in his knee. It's right at the growth plate so he's out for the season. Since Brady has been unable to play, Bryson has been using some of Brady's lacrosse equipment. For his birthday present we decided to take him to a local lacrosse store and get him a new stick of his own. He's loving it!

Tonight we had youth activities. The Young Women and Young Men met together for an etiquette dinner. The Laurels (16 & 17 yr. old girls) were in charge. They each had to set a table and make brownies for the dessert. We had lasagna, salad, rolls, and brownie sundaes. A sister in the ward taught the kids about etiquette and I believe they all had a great time! So many people pitched in to help, I was so grateful! Times like that I don't always think of little details like dishing up dinner for 50 kids and serving them all about the same time. I feel blessed to serve with such awesome people at church!

It's raining outside and the sound of it is making me feel sleepy. It's one of those nights that I just want to go snuggle up in warm blankets and listen to the rain. I love it!

Puddin'

Some of you have heard me talk about a baby I've been watching. Well, the other day I just had to take a picture of him. (I've lost my touch at feeding! Messy, isn't he!) But, isn't he cute! I can't really pronounce his first name so we've nicknamed him "Puddin." He is 9 months old and 23lbs! It's only appropriate that I insert a picture of him eating. Anyway, it's been really fun to have him around. The kids absolutely LOVE him! As soon as they get home from school, they all want to know where Puddin' is. Sometimes his father doesn't have to work so I don't have to watch him. The kids are always disappointed on those days. He's such a happy baby and a little delight!

Sept. 23, 2008

Yea! I have my own blog! I'm so excited! I've decided to use it a little bit as a journal as well as a way of sharing stamping projects that I'm doing with my club. I really wanted to have music playing while you look at my blog and it only took me about 4 hours to figure it out! But... now you get to hear some of the songs I really like. I'd love recommendations if you have a song you think I'd like.

Anyway, life is good! I love my husband and feel so blessed that he will be mine for eternity. (Love you, honey! Kiss! Kiss!) I love my kids! Lacie and Bryson just made the Skip-it team which is the jump rope team at school. They have an awesome coach and they're both really excited. Carston is becoming an avid little reader and just finished his first Magic Treehouse book in less than two days. Brady is my readaholic. Last Friday we went to Borders for the midnight release party for the book Brisinger. sp? It's the third book in the Eragon trilogy and he's already close to page 500. I wish I could read that fast! Well, I love them all and feel blessed to live where I do and have such wonderful family and friends! I spent a little too much time this morning trying to get music going on my blog, so I better sign off and get some work done around the house! Bye, for now!
