Dog cards

About 1 month ago our neighbor had to say goodbye to their sweet golden retriever that was 16 years old. She was a great dog but was really showing her age this last year. We'll miss Sara! I made this card for my neighbor.

I also needed to do a thank you (long over due) for our friends who watched our dog while we went to New York. Cassie thinks of the Millers as her second family! We're so happy that since watching Cassie they have gotten their own little Sophie and she is adorable!

Tissue anyone?

Okay! I just love our dog! She is hilarious! Yesterday Brady was home sick from school and I was working on the computer. I heard a faint bark and thought Cassie might need to go out so I went looking for her. I went into Brady's room and didn't see anything so I started to leave when I saw something move. Cassie? I walked over and amidst tissues everywhere was my cute little dog with a tissue box stuck on her head.

She was totally helpless and adorable. She just sat there wondering why I was laughing so hard and taking pictures! She absolutely loves shredding tissues, paper towels and paper. (That story about how the dog ate my homework really is true! Only she just shreds things to bits!)

January Club

It was so good to get back together with everyone for stamp club and it was fun to hear about everyone's Christmas! This month we focused on Valentine's Day and made a couple of cards to honor the day.

This card is so quick and easy, it makes a great Valentine to duplicate.

For our extra 3-d project I made a treat to give with the Fancy Favor die. I love the new seam binding ribbon! Since it's so lightweight I thought we'd be fine using snail to stick it down. Unfortunately by morning mine had fallen off. Sorry! Next time we'll use Sticky Strip.

Preschool Ornaments

I'm back! Sorry for the long time of no posts but I've been in Utah for Christmas then trying to get back into the swing of things since being home. I have quite a few things to post but first I wanted to share this darling picture that Jan from stamp club shared with me. She works at a preschool and made these darling ornaments for her students. Gasp! Aren't they the cutest!?!

They're made with the sweet treat cups to look like snow globes! Of course we smudged their cute little faces to protect their identity, but you get the idea. Thanks so much for sharing Jan!

Thanksgiving in NY

This year we spent Thanksgiving in NY, NY. Our kids are at the perfect age to be able to travel someplace like that and actually enjoy it. We had several highlights but here are a few:

Broadway play "Mary Poppins." The kids have never been to a broadway hit and they loved it!

Macy's Day parade. We walked to where the parade was to come through and arrived at 5am. We sat on the COLD cement for 4 hours waiting for the parade to begin. It was awesome. The balloons are so HUGE! We had a great time!

The Subway

The Statue of Liberty. There's something extra special about going to the Statue of Liberty in person. She's so majestic and inspiring. Unfortunately it felt like it was 20 degrees outside and it was very windy. None-the-less, we all loved it! Did I mention a seagull pooped on my head waiting for the ferry? YUCK!

Ground Zero

Ellis Island. A few years ago my siblings and I paid to have my dad's name registered at Ellis Island. Even though he didn't come directly to the island he did come in on a boat into NY. They are doing some renovations to some building there and his name was in a flagged off area. The kids and Mark snuck around and took a quick picture. It was fun to find his name. The flag below is so cool! It's a hologram that is made up of pictures of different immigrants and as you move directions it turns into the American flag.

It was an amazing trip and we all came home with some wonderful memories!

3 Weeks til Christmas

Okay, this really is my favorite! This card is made with a 5 1/2 x 12 sheet of cardstock scored at 4 and 8 inches. We'll see how many I get made but I just love all the pictures of the kids! I also printed off 8x10's of each picture and put them in my stamping area. I'll add a picture of how it looks later. Enjoy!
